A Time to know Aby (that's me!)

 

I am a unique creation; special in the eyes  my Creator; fearfully and wonderfully made...

 

I am Aby... Ruth Abigail Bastida Sebastian but my friends call me Aby, which has been my dominant nickname all my life. Enough reason to use it in my site.

 

At an early stage in my life I longed for affection or approval, mostly from the people who seemed so snobbish when it comes to that. I seeked appreciation from people who really seemed hard for me to please. The quest continued until I came to know and experience being loved and accepted no matter how ugly I can say my life was, turning my ashes into beauty.

 

Then, I gradually realized my importance. I slowly gained my self worth. I learned that there is a good reason for my existence.

 

Change started from within, rising up to the way I see things.

 

The Jesus I never knew made all things work together for my own good as I decided to have Him as my Lord and Savior; my King. It is just so great to belong to God's kingdom, and have a loving Father who never left me nor forsook me since I was conceived.

 

As I undergo the molding like a clay in my Potter's Hand, I leave my only hope to the One who is greater than anything else. The One, who makes me rise up on eagle's wings, above the storm.

 

If there is something to boast of, I just have one thing. It is the love that God has for me. By grace, through faith I claim my salvation. I recognize and look up to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in my life.

 

Perfection has been my enemy; but I am so glad that in the Lord, I am free to be me! Just the way He created me to be.

A TIME TO SING (Aby's Singing Videos)

It has been my dream to be seen on national television. Got the idea from my dad when he sketched a female newscaster very beautifully while she was talking on a TV news program. That really stayed in my heart, and after my dad died when I was 10 years old, I promised myself to reach this goal.

More than a decade after my father's death, I fulfilled that dream. Graduated with the degree Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication and got a break to appear in Philippine National TV as a segment host and producer. I appeared on TV once every week for a couple of months. Didn't soar high on it but I loved the experience.

Thank God for the technological advancements. I can now express myself on videos and be seen around the world. Hope to make a difference, and hope to encourage people through this.
